One of our best "Friends", Select Books, is moving from Tanglin Shopping Centre (last day of operations at Tanglin Shopping Centre will be Sunday, April 8, 2012) to 51 Armenian Street, Singapore 179939 just up the street from TPM. Select Books welcomes all FOM members to its new location operational from Monday, April 16, 2012. Remember to bring your FOM membership card for your 10% discount.^NEW!

Ever wanted to be an archaeologist? Here's your chance! Professors John Miksic and GOH Geok Yian are looking for volunteers to help wash and sort the finds from past archaeological digs in Singapore. Participants will work in groups over several weeks and can choose either of the following sessions: Friday or Saturday morning (10am to 1pm), or Friday afternoon (2-5pm). You've seen that some of our docents are guiding Monument Tours for PMB (Preservation of Monuments Board). If you'd like to join them, see our volunteers page for more information. In the meantime, why not join one of their tours? You can find the full list of upcoming tours here.

More and more of you (248 at last count!) are joining our dedicated members-only Facebook page and staying tuned in to our latest happenings, fun events, and enjoying photos from our intrepid FOM photographers. How to join: Search in the search box top of screen (once you've logged into Facebook) "Friends of the Museums Singapore", highlight the correct box when it appears, then click on the "Request to Join" button. If you're a paid-up member or alumnus, you should be approved within an hour or two. Don't miss the great postings and photos.

Docents, indicate your availability online. Even though we have self sign-up sheets, docents are still assigned "empty" slots, so it's important to keep your availability up to date.
