FOM is always looking for new energetic, highly motivated study tour leaders. Our tours cover destinations throughout Asia and focus on topics of interest to our members, ranging from archaeology to zoology. If you're a member of FOM and would like to volunteer your time, enthusiasm and expertise in leading a tour for your fellow members, we're here to help you get started.
Here's how to become an FOM Study Tour Leader:
Read the general overview article (below) on FOM Study Tour Leader responsibilities and duties, look over the required FOM study tour release and information forms, then contact the current Study Tours Coordinator to discuss your ideas.

Once you've signed on, here are the forms you will need to access:
- A copy of the FOM Study Tours Release Form required of all study tour participants (also includes FOM's cancellation policy)
- A copy of the FOM Health & Safety Form required of all study tour participants
- The Summary of Benefits for AIG Assist, our global travel insurance coverage
- A copy of the Payment Schedule for a Study Tour, to be sent to the FOM Treasurer and Study Tour Coordinator once a tour's budget is completed (to ensure proper cash flow coordination for our study tours)
- A copy of the Payment Request Form to be sent to the FOM Treasurer c/o the FOM Office (use this form to request a refund payment for a tour dropout, reimbursement of expenses, funds to cover group cash expenses on the trip, etc.)
- The Tour Participants' evaluation form (to be distributed at the end of the tour for participants to fill out and return to the Study Tour Coordinator c/o the FOM Office)
- The Tour Leader's evaluation form (to be filled out at the end of a study tour by the tour leader and returned to the Study Tour Coordinator c/o the FOM Office)
A number of experienced former leaders stand ready as tour mentors to help you get started, or to put you in touch with other interested potential leaders looking to share the responsibility and fun.
