More Guiding Opportunities: Guiding monument tours for PMB

The PMB is looking for new volunteers for their Monument Tours -- walking tours around 3-4 monuments. Guides will work on demand after attending a 15-week training programme organised by the PMB. A briefing session about the upcoming training is planned for 6 January 2012. The trainee application period is open until 9 January 2012; training begins in February 2012. If you are interested, please send an email to nhb_nationalmonuments@nhb.gov.sg to sign up for either the briefing session or the training programme. Volunteers Needed: INDEX Award 2011 Exhibition

An opportunity to guide something completely different ! Design Exhibition for the 50 finalist designs of INDEX Award 2011, 4-19 February 2012 (with the official opening on 8 February, 5:30 pm).
Location: forecourt of the Cathay building.

Volunteers needed: 5-6 docents to guide the VIP guests at the opening & guide pre-registered tours (early mornings or late afternoons weekdays and weekends, you may specify your available times and days) for special groups during the exhibition.

DesignSingapore Council, a division of MICA, organises the Singapore part of the travelling exhibition for INDEX Award 2012, a bi-annual international design award for designs that improve people's lives, see www.indexaward.dk. Training will be provided by DesignSingapore Council (http://www.designsingapore.org).

Volunteers needed: ARCHAEOLOGISTS (no experience required)

Professors John Miksic and GOH Geok Yian are looking for help for this spring's latest Fort Canning dig. Participants will work in a group of 10 two days a week (Friday and a Saturday/Sunday, morning session (10am to 1pm) or afternoons (2-5pm). Download the flyer here for all information.

Volunteer Needed: Co-Head Study Tours

Love to travel: armchair or other? Good with details? Our current Study Tours Coordinator is seeking a Co-Head of Study Tours. This is a position for someone who has been a member of FOM for a minimum of two years, and has been on at least one FOM study tour, and could be interested in taking over the function one day.

FOM offers 6-10 study tours per year; our job is to identify exciting destinations and find experienced, motivated study tour leaders to lead these tours. We have all the materials and guidelines: a study tour leaders manual, established travel and insurance agents, etc. but need someone good with details to ensure everything is done to FOM standards. Volunteers needed: FOM Finance Team

Have you had previous experience with accounts and finances? The FOM finance team is looking for volunteers. Being good at "numbers" is essential, as it an eye for accuracy and detail. Weekend Opportunities at the National Museum

The National Museum is always looking for NON-guiding volunteers to help with a number of activities organised by them. There are numerous roles such as hosting, ushering, being a greeter, or helping facilitate workshops and public and school programmes.
