OUR MISSION
is to assist the work of the National Heritage Board (NHB) and its programmes by providing members with opportunities for service through training, study and self-enrichment. The National Heritage Board is the governing body of the museums and guides us in our endeavours.
Friends of the Museums (FOM) was formed in 1978. Since then, the organisation has grown to more than 1400 members drawn from all corners of the world who currently support five museums: the National Museum of Singapore (NMS), the Singapore Art Museum (SAM), the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM), the Peranakan Museum (TPM) and the Singapore Tyler Print Institute (STPI).
Our priorities continue to be to assist the NHB to deepen awareness of, and interest in, Asian culture, history and the arts. To this end, we offer weekday, weekend, and evening opportunities for education and self-enrichment.
